COMMUNICATION FROM JOHN LINEHAN (REFEREE).

Please forgive the unsolicited email however one of our Colleagues, Roy Browne has an issue and is in need of urgent assistance.

His little daughter Anna is a happy, determined and vivacious 7-year-old little girl who received a diagnosis of spastic diplegic cerebral palsy only last year at 6 years of age.

This is the same operation the Little Abbey McGeough, the Late Eddie’s Great Grand Daughter underwent last year with huge success.

The operation needs to be done before a certain age for it to have any chance of success so the clock is ticking. When I spoke with Roy and Evelyn , Anna’s parents they told me that the biggest challenge for us to make this opportunity a reality is to raise the €100 000 required to cover the cost of the operation, therapy requirements, follow up treatments and travel to and from the US.

Fundraising is our best hope of providing Anna with this once in a lifetime opportunity and we need as much help as possible. We worry about who will referee what game.

The full story of Anna is online: http://isrscork.com/ urgent-help-needed/

You can donate through various means and all are mentioned online. I would say though that it may be better to donate through the Branch.

Please, please, please share the link to the page above and help Anna to have this life changing surgery before it is too late!

St. Patrick’s Weekend Fixtures

St. Patrick’s Weekend Fixtures

Because of the significant backlog in matches, the Fixture Secretary is left with no other alternative, but to arrange for games to be played over the St Patrick’s Weekend.

The main emphasis will be on cup games and those teams that have very few league games played will possibly find themselves in action.

Here are the arrangements:
Friday, March 16:
Any matches scheduled for this date will take place as usual.

Saturday, March 17:
There will be no fixtures on this date.

Sunday, March 18:
Some cup and league fixtures will possibly take place in the morning.

Monday, March 19:
Some cup and league fixtures will possible take place in the morning.

Free Weekends

Important AUL Notice

FREE WEEKENDS

Please note:
Due to circumstances beyond the league’s control, permission for free weekends will not be approved for the foreseeable future.

This decision was taken as a result of the enormous backlog of fixtures that have built up due to the inclement weather experienced over the last number of weeks which was responsible for a significant amount of games being cancelled.

Unsung Heroes OR Past Present Players\Managers deserving of some recognition:

It’s that time again where we reserve some space on the Evening Echo for the Unsung Heroes, Past Players\Managers OR committee members etc that would have given distinguished service to both football and their clubs over the years.

As there is a two week break from fixtures over the Christmas period, we will have the opportunity to portray on the Evening Echo anyone in your Clubs (AUL) that you feel comes under the above criteria.

We all know that football is full of people who consistently give selflessly of their time and energy over the years to the sport they love but, in some cases, they never get the proper recognition.

By the same token, there are also some terrific past players who have never got the recognition that they deserved so, this is an opportunity to highlight such people for their contributions.
Please feel free in getting in touch with me through e-mail (barrypeelo28@gmail.com or mob- 087-7936608 for anyone you feel fits the above criteria.

THIS WOULD BE A NICE TOUCH FOR CHRISTMAS FOR ANYONE YOU FEEL IS DESERVING OF SUCH RECOGNITION.

IMPORTANT: Please get in touch with me as soon as possible as time is of the essence to meet deadlines.

Yours in Sport,

Barry.
