IMPORTANT AUL NOTICE

FREE WEEKENDS

The Management Committee have made a decision to refuse the granting of any free weekends to all clubs for the unforeseeable future.

This decision was taken as a result of the enormous backlog of fixtures that have built up due to the inclement weather experienced over the last number of weeks which was responsible for a significant amount of games being cancelled.

FAI Coaching Courses

FAI Coaching Courses:

For all current UEFA Licence Holders who are required to complete a minimum 15 hours CPD every three years since the date of their qualification, The course contact is Coach Education Manager Niall O Regan niall.oregan@fai.ie

National C Licence Conversion
For all coaches who currently hold the FAI Youth Certificate, This course is a conversion of the old Youth Certificate to the New National C Licence and is only being offered to coaches until the year end 2017! After this a Youth Certificate holder will be required to complete the Full National C Licence Course. For course information contact rob.sweeney@fai.ie

Douglas Community School is running a Sport Psychology course for coaches, players & athletes.  The Psychology of Sports Performance course is designed to assist individual & team coaching and the individual performance of participants by applying mental fitness techniques.

Coaching Course

NEW COACHING PATHWAY ADULT INTRO COURSES (FAI)

The FAI are running the first of the New Coaching Pathway Adult Intro Courses in Fota Cork January 6th and 7th.

The course details are as follows:

Date: Friday 6th and Saturday 7th

Venue: Fota Hotel & Spa Cork

Cost: €120

Course Hrs Value: 24 hrs
(including 10hrs of sessions after completion of the course)

Pre-entry conditions:
1) Coaches must be working within the youth game

2) coaches are required to have Garda vetting and child welfare completed and if they don’t then they are allowed take part but Certs won’t be released until they have both completed.

The course will allow coaches begin their coach education and work towards one of the following progress routes:

1: Complete 40 hrs of Coach Education and move towards National D License, National C License and the UEFA Pathway

On Friday 30th December 2016 the club will host a charity event in aid of GROW.

At the Carrigtwohill Community All Weather Facility, 2 matches will be held back to back against local opposition. First Carrigtwohill United B will play Knockraha followed by Carrigtwohill United A against St John Bosco’s. All players and supporters will be asked to make a donation towards this charity.

GROW is a Mental Health Organisation which helps people who have suffered, or are suffering, from mental health problems. Members are helped to recover from all forms of mental breakdown, or indeed, to prevent such happening. GROW, founded in Australia in 1957 by former mental sufferers, has a national network of over 130 Groups in Ireland. Its principal strength is the support members give each other from their own experience in matters to do with mental health.

As part of the release of the New Coach Education Pathway which I have attached the New Visual, we are introducing coaching courses based on the following three key areas:

1: Reality Based Learning – Where coaches can enter the pathway now at the age specific / level they are working.

2: Competency Model, in which every course now has specific entry and exit competencies which will see the programs delivered in a more holistic approach and the move away for the ethos of final assessments.

3: The alignment with the Player Development Plan

With this in mind the New Adult Intro (Coaches currently working in the adult game); New Youth Intro (Coaches working within the Youth Game; New National D Licence (Replaced the old youth certificate) and the National Goalkeeping D Licence are being released for their first ever deliver in Cork in January as part of a Coach Education Festival of Football which will see the following courses taking place that weekend:

For your convenience I have explained each of the courses, their entry requirements, and their costs which I would appreciate your support in getting coaches working within the adult and youth game in Cork engaging with these programs and entering the formal coach education pathway. This will not only benefit the individual’s, but their clubs, players and the Leagues by seeing them as the first leagues to have the New Courses, and Coaches with the Qualifications working within the leagues in Cork.

Adult Intro:

Course Description:

This course is designed for coaches actively working within the Adult Game in Ireland. The course is a balance of practical and theory and will see the coach being provided with the knowledge and skills to coach to the highest standard within this section of the game.

Course Time:

Saturday 7th January 9am – 5pm

Venue:

Fota Hotel and Spa and Grass Pitches in Fota, Cobh Cork.

Entry Requirements:

All coaches must actively be working within the level of Adult Football. Course Description:

This course is designed for coaches actively working within the Youth Game 13 – 18 year olds in Ireland. The course is a balance of practical and theory and will see the coach being provided with the knowledge and skills to coach to the highest standard within this section of the game.

Saturday 7th January 9am – 5pm

Course Description:

The course is designed to develop coaches’ knowledge in dealing with multiple goalkeepers in a club setting. The coach should come away with the knowledge of how to plan and implement a reality based session with multiple goalkeepers.

Sunday 9.30am – 4.30pm

Venue:

Fota Hotel and Spa and Grass Pitches in Fota, Cobh Cork.

Cost:

€90

Entry Requirements:

All coaches must have completed the Fundamentals of GK, a former GK Coaching qualification and or has achieved the regard playing experience as a Goalkeeper to allow for entry to the course.  All coaches completing coach education must have or be completing their Garda Vetting and Child Welfare Workshop, but if they don’t have these completed they can do the course, and once completed the coach will get their certification.

National D Licence:

Course Description:

The course will see the coach complete theory and coaching practice, as well as pre-course, in-course assignments and a review of their coaching experience prior to entry to the coaching Licence Pathway.

Course Time:

Sunday 9.30am – 4.30pm

Venue:

Fota Hotel and Spa and Grass Pitches in Fota, Cobh Cork.

Cost:

€90

Entry Requirements:

The participant must have completed 40 hours of grassroots coach education before completing the National D Licence. Coaches can accumulate the hours through completing any of the grassroots courses, some examples being (Kick Start 1 & 2), Youth Intro, Adult Intro, and the workshops (PDP, FUTSAL, Fundamentals of GK, Small Sided Games 4v4, 7v7, Strength and Conditioning. All coaches completing coach education must have or be completing their Garda Vetting and Child Welfare Workshop, but if they don’t have these completed they can do the course, and once completed the coach will get their certification.

AUL NOTICE

Please note: Sunday, 6 November 2016 – There will be no fixtures on this date due to Cork City’s involvement in the FAI Cup Final.

Fixtures as usual will be scheduled for Friday and Saturday, 4th and 5th November 2016.

ON BEHALF OF THE CORK AUL, I WOULD LIKE TO WISH CORK CITY EVERY SUCCESS IN THE FINAL AND HOPEFULLY, WE WILL SEE THE FAI CUP RETURN TO ITS RIGHTFUL PLACE BY THE LEE.

Match Cards

AUL NOTICE

It has come to the committee’s notice that a significant amount of the referee’s cards coming back are not in an acceptable state as names of players are not legible and sometimes incomplete.

Match cards should contain the player first and last names (not nick-names) and ALL player’s names on cards MUST be printed and NOT hand-written.

 Please note, with immediate effect, the committee will look seriously at this and will have the power to impose fines for cards that are not in a legible state.

CORK AUL REGISTRAR

From 1 September 2016, registration forms must be posted to the registrar’s home address.

Any forms that are hand delivered will not be accepted as from that date as all forms must have a post mark present in order for that signed played to be eligible to play in the Cork AUL.

Please be reminded that a player is only eligible from the date a form arrives to the registrar and not the date it is posted.

I am writing to you in relation to Garda vetting.

From the 5th September 2016 all Garda vetting applications for the Football Association of Ireland (the FAI) will be processed online. From this date, a new Vetting Invitation Form will replace the current Garda vetting form. This should be completed and posted to the FAI, along with the current Garda ID Validation form.

On receipt of a Vetting Invitation Form and Garda ID Validation form the applicant will be emailed an invitation to complete the Garda vetting process online. These forms, as well as guidelines for completion will be sent to you on the commencement date to circulate to all affiliated to your National Body or Provincial Association.

Could you therefore kindly advise everyone affiliated to your National Body or Provincial Association that e-vetting will replace the current Garda vetting system from 5th September 2016.

U17 IRISH INTERNATIONALS

The Republic of Ireland Irish International U17 team will play 2 games in Cork in the 1st week in September.
This will be the 1st occasion Corkman Colin O’Brien will be in charge for games in Cork as Manager of the U17 team, and I appeal to everybody involved in Soccer in Cork City and County to attend the games and show support for one of our own.
