Re: Garda Vetting

To All FAI National Bodies & Provincial Associations
To All FAI National Bodies & Provincial Associations

I am writing to you in relation to Garda vetting.

From the 5th September 2016 all Garda vetting applications for the Football Association of Ireland (the FAI) will be processed online. From this date, a new Vetting Invitation Form will replace the current Garda vetting form. This should be completed and posted to the FAI, along with the current Garda ID Validation form.

On receipt of a Vetting Invitation Form and Garda ID Validation form the applicant will be emailed an invitation to complete the Garda vetting process online. These forms, as well as guidelines for completion will be sent to you on the commencement date to circulate to all affiliated to your National Body or Provincial Association.

Could you therefore kindly advise everyone affiliated to your National Body or Provincial Association that e-vetting will replace the current Garda vetting system from 5th September 2016.

Thank you for your assistance.

Yours Sincerely,

Gary McDermott
FAI Child Welfare & Safeguarding Manager

Message from Barr Peelo

ALL SET TO GO FOR THE NEW SEASON?

With the new season coming fast, here is the usual reminder to everyone with regard to sending information into me for coverage on the AUL Pre-Season Spread on the Evening Echo.

As usual, we will have a major preview which will be published closer to the start.

There are a lot of pages to fill, so we need your help and it is a great opportunity to publicise your club and your team.

Here are some suggestions:

Developments during the summer – pitch improvements, new facilities.

How did your AGM go? Any significant changes at the top i.e. new Chairman etc. Feel free to list your committee members and their functions.

Who is the manager? The assistant? Or any of the backroom staff.

Any new signings? Players graduating from the B team? Up from the Youths? Who is the captain for the new season? Have you lost players? Are last season’s top scorers still with you? If so, who are they.

Where did you finish up last season and were you happy with it?

What are your aims for the season? Will priority be given to cups or league or consolidation in the section you are in?

Who got your annual awards: Player of the year? Top Scorer? Clubman of the Year?

NOTE:  IT  WOULD  GREATLY APPRECIATED  IF  YOU  COULD  SEND  THIS  INFORMATION  TO ME AS  SOON  AS  POSSIBLE.

P.S.   PLEASE   SEND ON AS MUCH INFORMATION AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.

Many thanks for you help and the best of luck for the new season.

As usual, I can be contacted at 087 7936608 or barrypeelo28@gmail.com

Cheers,

Barry.

AUL Notice

IMPORTANT AUL NOTICE

The significant shortage of referees from week to week has made it very difficult and almost impossible for the fixture secretary to facilitate teams in providing them with regular football. This is a circumstance that is beyond his control.
As a result of this unwanted and unfortunate problem, the league would be very grateful if wherever possible, some clubs might examine the feasibility of switching to Sunday afternoon kick-offs.
The League understands that this is a big ask for some clubs, but to alleviate this problem somewhat, your co-operation would be greatly appreciated.

Please address all queries and responses to the Fixture Secretary Ted O’Mahony (087-7937783).
